Released on Disney+ June 4, 2021

Runtime: 1 Hour 47 Minutes

Rated PG

After a meeting that is supposed to bring people together a terrible enemy is released on the land and countries are further divided. Raya must bring together an unlikely team of heroes to save her father, her people, and the world.

Themes:

Family, extinction, stereotyping, judging people, betrayal, honor, dragons, and fighting.

Language:

There is some name calling, but that is it.

Stuff to be aware of:

There is a scary mist/vapor with what looks like lightning inside that turns people into statues, there are a few jump scares where things pop up out of no where, there is lots of sword fighting and hand to hand combat scenes, there is a scene where a baby takes her diaper off and you see her butt, (the next two are spoilerish, so turn back now if you hate spoilers...you’ve been warned) one of the main characters gets shot with an arrow and falls into a lake, and during part of the movie all of the main characters turn to stone. If you want more details about any of that shoot me a message.

Overall:

It’s a great movie. We will probably let our girls watch it but tell them about the intense things that happen. It felt a lot different than typical Disney movies. We laughed a lot and one of us may have cried some...
