Ab‘duck’tion

Game: Abducktion Genre: Chaotic tile placement and shape formation
Age: Suggested 12+, my 10 year old hasn’t played yet but I think she would be able to play it just fine.
Number of players:
1-4
Time:
15-30 minutes (Slower if some are still learning)
Difficulty:
Easy to explain, pick up, and pay. Reading: There are multiple cards that you use for play. There is some reading on these cards but my twelve year old, who is dyslexic, after me reading each card to her remembered what each one did after the first game we played.

About the Game:

A quirky strategic game where ducks are stolen and replaced by a UFO!

Players take turns trying to line up their ducks into certain patterns/shapes/formations and colors to match set formations on cards. Once a formation is achieved those ducks are removed from the players board and the player receives the formation card which has points on it. Once all the pattern cards are taken the game ends and the player with the most points wins.

Where the chaos and strategy comes in is that any time a duck is removed from your board all you ducks shift forward. There are also cards that allow you to change other player’s boards/ducks.

Replay Value:

High, especially if you like strategy, ducks, and UFOs. Once all players are familiar with the game it moves pretty fast if players stay engaged and think through their future turn while others are going.

My Thoughts:

My family really enjoys this one. It has strategy to it, but not so deep that kids can’t play. There aren’t many rules to learn so it make is easy to play. Also, I feel like this game is one you could enjoy with people that are willing to play a game, but aren’t really “gamers.”
