After defeating the Red Skull the Lego Avengers receive a visit from Natasha’s (Black Widow) Dad, the Red Guardian, who swoops in like a helicopter parent. Suspecting foul play the Avengers do a little digging to discover other villains with the word “red” in their names have also disappeared. To help locate the missing red villains the Avengers must turn to the best tracker in the Marvel universe, and he is the best there is…

Will the heroes find the kidnapped red villains? Will Hulk start wearing deodorant? Will we ever see the Lego Bionicles return? Find out in Lego Avengers Code Red!

Themes:

The Avengers, super heroes, villains, the color red, fathers, daughters, family, teamwork, camaraderie, dad jokes, embarrassment, friendship, teams, competition, helicopter parents, quality time, growing up, kidnapping, relationships, ex-girlfriends, evil hobbies, completionists, collectors, mint condition, flaws, mythical creatures, aliens, technology, Lego, and Santa Clause (Ho Ho Ho!)

Language:

MC Hammer’s Can’t Touch This plays in the beginning in which “oh my Lord, thank you for blessing me...” The word butt is used a few times.

Stuff to be aware of:

Typical Lego superhero shenanigans. There is fighting and some Lego people lose parts.

Overall:

This was designed for kids, so it isn’t as well written as the Lego Movie, but it did make me laugh a few times. The voice actors do a good job sounding like their MCU counterparts and the animation is smooth. Lots of fun jokes, Lego Easter eggs, and enjoyable enough to watch with your children.
