After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron the US government, along with 116 other countries, create a legal document called the Sokovia Accords that states that the Avengers will no longer be a private organization, but will operate under a United Nations panel. After Wakanda’s king is assassinated at the signing of the Accords, the Winter Soldier is blamed, but once Captain America catches up to him they discover that the assassination may have been part of a larger scheme.

Stuff to be aware of:
Scary - Bucky is reprogrammed, like in past movies, and seems to be tortured. There are men that are injected with a serum that makes them powerful. They are seen strapped to a bed and convulsing. These soldiers fight and kill several people in a flash back.
Sexual - Tony Stark’s mom makes a joke about Tony studying abroad. Tony’s father makes a joke about, “which broad.”
Violence - There is plenty of MCU fighting and guns going off like most of the MCU movies. I’ll highlight things here that are beyond the typical fighting and shooting scenes. Black Widow shoots a guy up close in the beginning fight scene. Crossbones ignites a bomb and Scarlet Witch contains is, but you see him explode and burn up.
There is a mix of news clips that show people getting hurt and dieing. One lady is on the ground with her eyes open and she is presumed dead. There is a scene where a man is hung upside down over a sink that is filling up with water. You see the man struggle as he drowns. An explosion kills the King of Wakana and his son cries holding him. His son gets blood on his clothes which is seen later.
There is a dead man in a bathtub. The curtain is closed, but you can see the outline of his arm. There is also blood that can be seen on the tub. Several men are seen shot in the head. You don’t see the shooting, just the dead people. In old footage a man is punched in the face multiple times. There is also a woman seen bleeding from a car crash. During the last fight scene Cap and Tony have blood on their faces.
Overall:
Seeing It With Your Family
This one is pretty intense with heroes fighting each other, other than that you won’t find too much different here. A few people who have been shot in the head and the dead man in the tub is pretty rough.
What I Thought
If you are expecting a faithful adaptation of the Marvel comics crossover event Civil War, you may be let down. We don’t have that many characters in the MCU at this point. However, this was a great movie and feels like the right response to the events in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This addition to the Captain America trilogy once again hits it out of the park.
