Stuff to be aware of:
Grossness - Black Panther pushes a mechanical sphere into an open wound on a man. You see a man dead, with his eyes open.
Scary - Killmonger poisons a woman causing her to falls over, presumably dead. When the Black Panther’s strength is taken from T’Challa his veins turn a different color and he looks physically weaker.
Sexual - Some of the outfits in Wakana are revealing. T’Challa fights in a few scenes with no shirt on.
Spiritual - Wakana gods are mentioned. T’Challa’s ancestors meet with him in a dream-type trance while he drinks a special drink and regains the powers of the Black Panther. He gets to see his dead father during this time.
Violence - All the action and violence you have come to expect from MCU movies, but here are a few things outside of the normal stuff. In the beginning fight scene, a man gets stabbed by a spear. Ulysses Klaue shoots several people point-blank in a heist scene.
In ritual combat for the throne, T’Challa gets stabbed with a spear. Ulysses Klaue during an interrogation scene has a huge bloody cut on his forehead. During one scene, several people get shot; however, one remains alive. He is bleeding and says something, but then is shot again off screen.
In combat against Kilmonger, Black Panther is stabbed and wounded very badly. He is then thrown off a waterfall. During the final battle, multiple warriors get thrown around, stabbed, and killed.
Other - Shuri flips someone off. Ulysses Klaue has a prosthetic arm that opens up and shoots energy blasts.
Overall:
Seeing It With Your Family
There are aspects of this movie that deal with racism and equity. Slavery is mentioned in conversations. This MCU movie has much less cursing than other ones, but the violence was about the same.
What I Thought
This article was mainly to help families know what it in the movie. However, this was exactly what we needed from a Black Panther movie.
