After storming a Hydra base, the Avengers locate Loki’s staff. Tony and Bruce use the staff to create an A.I. program known as Ultron. Ultron was created to protect the world, but instead he calculates that the only way to save the earth is to rid it of the people on it.

Stuff to be aware of:

Grossness - There is a photo of a dead man and the word “peace” is written in his blood.

Scary - Scarlet Witch enters the movie in “horror movie” fashion with glowing eyes and making doors close and open, then making people see visions. Iron Man sees a vision of all the other Avengers dead and bleeding. The first time Ultron comes on the scene he is a hobbling robot that is leaking fuel. He moves in creepy ways.

The nightmares the Avengers have when Scarlet Witch gets into their heads can be creepy. There are people in creepy masks, two children with no mouths, people exploding, operation rooms, people fighting, people moving in creepy ways, and odd scenes. There is a scene where Thor is seen in water and lightning shoots out of him.

Some of the Ultron bots lose limbs and crawl in creepy ways.

Sexual - Tony makes a joke about “getting it up.” There is a scene on Asgard with women scantily clad dancing around. Black Widow flirts with Bruce Banner about getting in the shower with him. Not long after that she talks about how she cannot have children due to being sterilized by the Widow program. Thor is once again seen shirtless briefly. Tony makes a joke about “hiding the zucchini.”

Violence - There is a big battle at the beginning of the movie. Lots of Hydra agents get shot, thrown, and killed. The Avengers fight multiple robots controlled by Ultron. Ultron rips a man’s arm off and kicks him down some stairs. A woman gets shot by Ultron and talks to Captain America while she is sitting on the floor bleeding.

Quicksilver gets shot multiple times and his clothes are riddled with holes and blood.

Other - People are seen drinking in several scenes.

Overall:

Seeing It With Your Family

If watching this with younger viewers Ultron can at times be scary. He sometimes moves in creepy ways and sings the “No Strings On Me” song from Pinocchio. Violence and language wise this one is about on par with the other MCU movies before it. There is one main character that dies so that is something to keep in mind.

What I Thought

The second outing for the Avengers was not as good as the original, but still has some classic scenes. What they tried to do with Bruce and Natasha was not good and didn’t make sense. There was a bunch of set up for other movies, which hurt it a bit. However, it is still a classic.
