Strange World

Released in theaters on Nov 23, 2022

Released on Disney+ Dec 23, 2022

Runtime: 1 Hour 42 Minutes

Rated PG

A famous explorer is lost, and his son (who now has a son) ends up finding him when on a mission to save their city’s power supply, which happens to be a plant. I will go ahead and admit I didn’t watch past about the first thirty minutes.

Themes:

Family, LGBTQ+, acceptance, biracial couples, being different than your parents, exploration, energy, and likely other things, but I didn’t finish it.

Language:

The part I watched didn’t have any curse words, potty humor, or crude words.

Stuff to be aware of:

One of the main characters, who is a male teen, has a crush on another male teen. It is very obvious and his father talks to him about it in a very “this is normal” kind of way. I believe this relationship is discussed later in the movie. I did fast froward to the end, and it seems the two males get together because they are seen embracing one another and looking off into the distance. There are organic monsters that attack the characters. A mom and a dad kiss on each other to embarrass their son.

Overall:

The moral of the movie seems to be so much of the focus of the writers that everything else (including the story) was not very good. I didn’t finish this movie for multiple reasons: the agenda that was being pushed, the unoriginal story that seemed to only fit the agenda, it was boring, No character development that I could see, I wanted to watch something else, I didn’t want to give it my time. I am happy to discuss it if anyone wants to message me.
