Language:

Name calling such as twit, fool, and loser.

A character says, “you are royally…” and the last part is bleeped out by ship’s horn.

Stuff to be aware of:

Grossness - There is a nightmare sequence in which a baby ogre projectile vomits on Shrek.

Sexual - There is a joke about Shrek needing “jammies.” His feet and belly are seen, but he seems naked. A servant scratches Shrek’s butt with a stick. Puss in Boots tells a bunch of female cats he loves them and will miss them. Once he doesn’t know but her tell her he would like to know her better. Shrek is naked in a nightmare and you see the top of his butt. There is a joke about how babies happen, but nothing is explained. Some characters make change the letters on a sign to make it read, “hooters.”

The Ugly Stepsister says that Charming makes her, “hotter than July.” Charming and Rapunzel kiss. There is a scene where someone women burn a bra. The Ugly Step sister shows off her leg with a gratter on it. Some men oogle over it and then she comes out. Shrek and Fiona kiss.

Violence - Shrek tried to Knight someone and off screen it looks like the sword is stuck in him. There are several scenes with sword fighting and fist fighting, but nothing graphic.

Other - The king (a frog) dies, but before he does he seems dead and a fly comes out of his mouth and walks on his open eye. The Poison Apple tavern returns and people are drinking. Prince Charming buys the entire tavern fuzzy navels. Both ugly step sisters are in this one. They are female characters, but very manly. Two guys get out of a van and a bunch of smoke (Frankincense and myrrh are mentioned). One character says I haven’t been on a trip like that since college.

Overall:

Seeing It With Your Family

Compared to the first two movies this one is much for family friendly. No curse words and not near as many sexual jokes.

What I Thought

This one is a disappointment compared to the first two. It tries to have some of the same humor and quirkiness, but fails.
